Dazzling Diversity
Poster Design & Print Making
Dazzling Diversity is an exhibition that celebrates the history of one of the most diverse group of animals on the planet- Insects! The exhibition displays a variety of different insects, so it was only fitting that their poster reflected the same kind of diversity. The poster was created using traditional illustration techniques and including linocut print making. The vibrant bugs were created by carving out their shape on a carving block, applying ink, and then transferring to paper. The vibrant color of the creatures are bring a new level of excitement to the ancient art of entomology.

The Process.
Dream It.
First, I designed a variation of different insects. I then printed the insects out and transferred the prints to a carving block.
Carve It.
After the prints were transferred to a carving block it was time for the them to be carved out. I used a variation of different tools to tactfully carve out the insects. This process was tedious!
Print It.
Lastly, I rolled black ink onto the print and watched as the insects were transferred onto the paper. From there I scanned the prints into the computer and then manipulated them in photoshop and procreate.
