Kopp Wedding invitation is a fully illustrated event guide that lovingly represents the small island of Hatteras located in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This location is very special to the Bride and Groom and they wanted to share their love of this setting with their guests. The invitation is a to-scale map of the small towns that make up Hatteras, punctuated by special places that are significant to the couple. This visual journey is not only a map of a location, but also charts of the courtship shared by the soon to be Mr. and Mrs.

Sketch it out.

Before I dive into illustrating, I sketch out a few thumbnails of what I envision my piece will look like. Once I’ve made a decision on which route to take, I compose a more detailed sketch. Lastly, I throw on some color from the desired color palette to get a greater Idea of what the finished design will look like.
